It is attested in the earliest witnesses of the work, e.g. in [[Montecassino, Archivio dell’Abbazia, 64]] (siglum '''Mv'''), from the mid-twelfth century, probably made in the same abbey, and from this manuscript it was edited in Bibliotheca Casinensis seu Codicum Manuscriptorum, II (1875) pp. 171-196. De cons.), witnesses of the first recension, but was no longer copied in the manuscripts producedfrom the first decades of the thirteenth century onwards.
