Category:Library

This category contain all articles on holding institutions (libraries, archives, museums, private collections) of all manuscripts covered by this Wiki. It should always serve as a complete list of all such institutions relevant for our project. For a map of almost all of them (except historical libraries), see here.

To keep the category up to date, please create a new page for any holding institution not yet covered when creating a new article on one of its manuscripts.

When creating a new article on an archive or a library, please use the Template:Infobox library and insert (apart from any information you see fit) the following paragraph:

There are {{PAGESINCATEGORY:Manuscript in holding institution}} articles in this Wiki on manuscripts in holding institution; see [[:Category:Manuscript in holding institution]].

It is important that the name you insert (the placeholder holding institution in the above template text) is identicial to the name used in the lemma, i.e. the official place name and the name of the library, in some cases the short form (e.g. "Abbeville, BM").

Also, please add both this category (i.e. [[Category:Library]]) as well as one for the country the holding institution is found in (for example, [[Category:Library in France]]). For referencing the holding institution directly on the page of the manuscript, please refer to Categories#Manuscripts.
