Clavis Canonum:About

From Clavis Canonum

Clavis canonum is a database that was built by Linda Fowler-Magerl. It is an analysis of a large number of canon law collections, giving the incipit, explicit, rubric, inscription, and some other basic information for every single canon they contain. The work was begun in the 1970s and after several earlier versions, Fowler-Magerl in 2005 published the database and a handbook in die MGH Hilfsmittel series. This version of the database was made available online in ca. 2010 on the MGH website, and currently is revised by Clemens Radl (MGH Munich), Danica Summerlin (U Sheffield), and Christof Rolker (U Bamberg). We have add new collections to the database, and update the description of the collections. To this end, we have set up the Wiki which contains the description of the collections and individual page for the relevant manuscripts. Most content was lifted directly from the printed handbook, but gradually is added to and reworked by registered users of this Wiki. If you are interested to join this group, please contact Christof Rolker at uni-bamberg de.
