Montecassino, Archivio dell’Abbazia, 71 is a copy of the Registrum Gregorii (= R1 in the editions of Ewald and Norberg) and by far the most important single manuscript for both editions; as Norberg put it: "Hoc codex et nobis et editoribus novissimis quasi quasi fundamentum editionis dedit."
