Roma, Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale, San Onofrio 42

Selected Canon Law Collections, ca. 500–1234

"Roma, BN Ms. 42 of S. Onofrio" is described as a copy of Gratian's Concordia discordantium canonum by Pennington (Bio-Bib Report a242), but this is not the case.

  • Roma, BNC, San Onofrio 42 is a paper manuscript saec. XVIII that has nothing to do with Gratian.
  • Roma, BNC, Sess. 42 is a parchment codex (saec. XIV) containing mainly writing of St Bernard.
  • Perhaps even a confusion with Roma, BNC, Sess. 43 which contains a Summa decretorum?
