The Collectio Oenipontana is transmitted as an appendix to Gratian in Innsbruck, ULB, Cod. 90 and variously been classified as a decretal collection (Kuttner) or an appendix (Duggan). Its first part contains 89 pieces, mostly pre-Gratian material; more than half of the items are taken from Burchard. The first part also contains five decretals of Alexander III. The second part are the canons of Lateran III. The collection supplements Gratian and contains cross-references to the Decretum. In some cases where Gratian had a shorter excerpt from some material source, the Oenipontana provides the missing passages or part thereof, with notes to the respective Gratian passage.
