In the long run, all title pages for descriptions of manuscripts and collections whould be standardizsed (i.e. pages moved to a page with a standard title).

You can add articles into this category by inserting [[Category:Pages with non-standard title]]. You can improve articles in this category by moving them to a page with a standardised title:

  • Manuscripts: The standard form is "Place, Library, Shelf mark" with place names in the local language and library names abbreviated; note the comma both before and after the library name. Example: "Firenze, BNC, conv. sopp. 1", "Paris, BnF, lat. 1234", "München, BSB, Clm 12345"
  • Collections: The standard form is "Collectio quaedam" (without "The"!). Use the Latin form, unless there is a good reason not to do so. If a collection is known by several names, only use the most common form; if in doubt, go with the 2005 edition of the Clavis canonum handbook.
    • Collections by know author: "Deusdedit, Collectio canonum"
    • Anonymous collections known by MS: "Collectio canonum in Paris, BnF, lat. 1234"
    • Anonymous collections with descriptive titles: "Collectio LXXIV titulorum" (always use the Latin form)
    • Anonymous collections with proper titles: "Collectio Gaddiana"
