Torino, Biblioteca Nazionale Universitaria, E.V.44 is a codex of 109 folios dated saec. XII/XIII (Pasini), saec. XII (Kéry) and was written in northern Italy. It was no CMIII in the Pasini catalogue (digitized here) and no 783 in the 1922 Consentini catalogue (digitized here).

It contains the known copy of the Collectio canonum in Torino, BNU, E. V. 44, fol. 71v–86v . Julius von Pflugk-Harttung and others treated the canon law content of the whole manuscript as one work and called it the "Turiner Sammlung" or Collectio Taurinensis.

In the literature, the manuscript has been cited in many different ways:

  • von Pflugk-Harttung called it "E. 44"
  • Perels quoted it as Taurinensis 903
  • Gasso/Batlle, Prolegomena p. LX, cite it as "Biblioteca nazionale 783" and note that it once was "Bibliotheca universitaria F. IV. 7 postea E. V. 44; 903")
  • Beulertz p. 53 refers to it as "903 (früher E V 44)"
  • The MSS index of the 2005 Clavis handbook erroneously referred to as "E.V.33"
