OThe famous abbey library of Montecassino today is part of the historical archive of Montecassino which, together with the library, in turn is part of the Biblioteca statale del Monumento nazionale di Montecassino. In the scholarly literature, "Montecassino, Archivio dell'Abbazia", "Montecassino, Biblioteca dell'Abbazia", or simply ""Montecassino" are more commonly used to refer to the medieval manuscripts held by the state library.
