There are two collections of decretal letters from the time of Leo I, the Canones urbicani (compiled probably in Gaul) and the Epistolae decretales (compiled in Rome). Both are lost; their content and structure can only be inferred from later collections.
The collection seem to be contained completely in the Collectio Coloniensis as item no. 23-26, with the inscription Canones urbanici repeated several times. On this basis, scholars assume the Canones urbanici contained five papal letters, two from Innocent (JK 293, JK 303), one from Zosimus (JK 339), and two from Celestine (JK 369 and JK 371).
