The Collection in 136 chapters is found in Paris, BnF, lat. 3871 (following the Panormia and preceding the Collectio XXX capitulorum), Paris, BnF, lat. 3872, and Troyes, BM, 480. It essentially an excerpt of the Collection in ten parts. Both collections were first described by Gérard Fransen and more recently analysed by Dominique Stutzmann.

All canons in the Collection in 136 chapters are found in 10P, and except for the four first and the items 128 and 129, they are in the same sequence; in addition, some of these texts are found in other collections, making it very certain that the Collection in 136 chapters is indeed an excerpt of 10P.

Given that the manuscripts containing the collections are from Clairvaux and Fontenay, respectively, it seems likely that they were compiled in these regions too, where 10P has a known transmission. Both collections were compiled in the twelfth century.
