The main library housing the medieval manuscripts, or what is left of them, today is called the Médiathèque l'Apostrophe. The Wiki retains the traditional abbreviation as BM for the lemmata of all manuscript articles. Note that the [https://mediatheque.chartres.fr/ homepage of the libary] (as of early 2025) seems not to contain any information on the manuscripts once in its possession, nor the digital images available.
The Bibliothèque municipale of Chartres in 1944 was largely destroyed after an airraid on the city. The fragments were preserved by the IRHT. A large project aimed at the reconstruction of the lost manuscripts, including the digitization of all the fragments. However, many of the ca. 500 medieval manuscripts once in the municipal library are lost forever.

The main library housing the medieval manuscripts, or what is left of them, today is called the Médiathèque l'Apostrophe. The Wiki retains the traditional abbreviation as BM for the lemmata of all manuscript articles. Note that the homepage of the libary (as of early 2025) seems not to contain any information on the manuscripts once in its possession, nor the digital images available.

There are 15 manuscripts in this Wiki which are held by Chartres, BM; see Category:Manuscript in Chartres, BM.
