:While Müller mentions the Collection in 98 chapters in passing, he does not suggest that the Collectio XII partium drew on this collection, however, he shows that it makes use of the Freising Collection. Thus, I propose to revert the latest edit and remove the reference to the Collection in 98 chapters from this article. (Yet I strongly propose to include the collection into the database. In fact I already have a critical text and transcriptions of the two manuscripts. We will just have to figure out, which text to include into the database.) Bamberg Can. 9
"hey used a material collection found in the Mss Munich, StB Clm 6241 and 6245 and Vienna, ÖNB Cod. 2198, all from Freising, and in the Ms Bamberg, StB Can. 9 from Regensburg." The reference to Bamberg, Staatsbibliothe, Msc.Can.9 is mistaken; this manuscript is an excerpt of 12P according to Müller, see the manuscript page: https://beta.mgh.de/databases/clavis/wiki/index.php?title=Bamberg,_Staatsbibliothek,_Msc.Can.9 --Christof Rolker (talk) 13:49, 12 July 2022 (CEST)
- Actually, Linda was right, I believe: The problem with Bamberg, SB, Msc. Can. 9 is that it is comprised of several parts which were bound together at a later stage: The first, younger, major part is foll. 1r–127v which contains a late 11th century excerpt of the Collectio XII partium (named "B4" by Müller, Untersuchungen), whereas the older, second part (11th century) contains several texts and minor collections, some which in turn served as a source for the Collectio XII partium (but not from this very manuscript).
- Now the "minor collections" mentioned above, are mainly two texts: one of which is the Collection of 98 chapters (which can be found in two manuscripts: Bamberg, Staatsbibliothek, Msc. Can. 9, foll. 206r–232r and Vienna, Österreichische Nationalbibliothek, lat. 2198, foll. 88v–123v). The other minor collection is the so-called "Freising Collection of Canonical Materials" (Kéry, Collections p. 185–186), which can be found in four manuscripts: Bamberg, Staatsbibliothek, Msc. Can. 9, foll. 128r–205v, Vienna, Österrichische Nationalbibliothek, lat. 2198, foll. 1r–88r, Munich, Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, Clm 6245, and Munich, Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, Clm 6241.
- While Müller mentions the Collection in 98 chapters in passing, he does not suggest that the Collectio XII partium drew on this collection, however, he shows that it makes use of the Freising Collection. Thus, I propose to revert the latest edit and remove the reference to the Collection in 98 chapters from this article. (Yet I strongly propose to include the collection into the database. In fact I already have a critical text and transcriptions of the two manuscripts. We will just have to figure out, which text to include into the database.) - I'll revert the change and then add some information to the appropriate collection and manuscript pages. Clemens Radl (talk) 16:34, 27 July 2022 (CEST)
