A third version of the ''[[Collectio Dionysiana I|Collectio Dionysiana]]'' can be inferred to have been compiled, or at least planned, from the dedicatory preface; no manuscript of the collection itself is known. According to this preface, Pope Hormisdas (514–523) requested a further revision of the ''Dionysiana'' in which the Greek and Latin texts would be presented in parallel columns. In this preface Dionysius said he would leave out all those texts which were not universally accepted: the ''Canones apostolorum'', the canons of Sardica and the „African canons“.

A third version of the Collectio Dionysiana can be inferred to have been compiled, or at least planned, from the dedicatory preface; no manuscript of the collection itself is known. According to this preface, Pope Hormisdas (514–523) requested a further revision of the Dionysiana in which the Greek and Latin texts would be presented in parallel columns. In this preface Dionysius said he would leave out all those texts which were not universally accepted: the Canones apostolorum, the canons of Sardica and the „African canons“.
