• Very small (less than 100 canons) collections: 41 collections
• Small (100 to 500 canons) collections: 35 collections
• Medium (500 to 1000 canons) collections: 23 collections
• Large (1000 to 2000 canons) collection: 32 collections
• Very large (more than 2000 canons) collections: 12 collections

Groups of Collections

Some collections are so closely related that scholarship has treated them together; there are a handful of categories for precisely this purpose:

• Dionysiana: The two versions of the conciliar collection (Dionysiana I, Dionysiana II), the lost (?) third version (Dionysiana III), the decretal collection (Liber decretalium), the Dionysiana adaucta, the Dionysio-Hadriana are all in the Category:Collection belonging to Dionysiana group
• Burchard, Burchard versions, and Burchard derivatives: Category:Collection belonging to Burchard of Worms group
• The collection of Anselm of Lucca (all versions, plus very similar collections) Category:Collection belonging to Anselm (all versions) group
• The Ivonian collections Category:Collection belonging to Ivonian collections group
• Caesaraugustana Category:Collection belonging to Caesaraugustana group
• The Tarraconensis-related collections Category:Collection belonging to Tarraconenses group
