The municipal library of Troyes is currently (since 2002) named '''Médiathèque Jacques-Chirac'''. It is also known as Bibliothèque municipale de Troyes, Médiathèque de l'agglomération troyenne, or Médiathèque de Troyes Champagne Métropole. The Clavis Wiki (for its short titles of manuscripts etc.) retains the traditional name Bibliothèque Municipale or '''BM''' for short. The medieval manuscripts, including the famous Clairvaux manuscripts (digitized by the BVC project), are part of the fonds patrimoniaux. All in all, some 1500 Troyes manuscripts are online.

Note that the "Ms" is an essential part of the shelfmark for all Troyes manuscripts, as there are printed books with the same shelfmarks (just without the "Ms") in the same fonds.
The medieval manuscripts, including the famous Clairvaux manuscripts (digitized by the [https://www.bibliotheque-virtuelle-clairvaux.com/ Bibliothèque virtuelle de Clairvaux project]), are part of the ''fonds patrimoniaux''. All in all, some 1500 Troyes manuscripts are online. Note that ARCA and Biblissima (as of 2025) do not link to the digital images of the Bibliothèque virtuelle de Clairvaux, where some manuscripts are available in colour while ARCA only has black and white images of digitized IRHT microfilms (e.g. [[Troyes, BM, 1293]]).

The municipal library of Troyes is currently (since 2002) named Médiathèque Jacques-Chirac. It is also known as Bibliothèque municipale de Troyes, Médiathèque de l'agglomération troyenne, or Médiathèque de Troyes Champagne Métropole. The Clavis Wiki (for its short titles of manuscripts etc.) retains the traditional name Bibliothèque Municipale or BM for short.

The medieval manuscripts, including the famous Clairvaux manuscripts (digitized by the Bibliothèque virtuelle de Clairvaux project), are part of the fonds patrimoniaux. Troyes, BM, 1293).

Among the catalogues, for our project see in particular:

  • La bibliothèque de l’abbaye de Clairvaux du XIIe au XVIIIe siècle. Tome II: Manuscrits conservés. Quatrième partie. Droit, médecine, grammaire, logique, rhétorique, poésie, philosophie, coutume monastiques, sous la direction de J.-P. Rothschild et C. Heid, Paris 2024.

There are 26 articles on this Wiki on manuscripts which are held by Troyes, BM; see Category:Manuscript in Troyes, BM.
