The rich libray of the Premonstratensean Abbey of Tepl/Teplá (the oldest library in all Bohemia) suffered heavy losses when the community was dissolved in 1950. However, the historical collections remained in Teplá, and after the refoundation of the abbey in 1993 considerable holdings were returned. Between 2006 and 2008, the oldest holdings including medieval codices and fragments were sold to the Czech National Library. This presumably included all 434 medieval codices which the abbey held in 1996 according to the FABIAN handbook.
