It essentially an excerpt of the [[The Collectio X partium (10P)|Collection in ten parts]].  Both collections were first described by Gérard Fransen and more recently analysed by Dominique Stutzmann.

The ''Collection in 136 chapters'' is found in [[Paris, BnF, lat. 3871]], [[Paris, BnF, lat. 3872]], [[Troyes, BM, 480]], and [[Città del Vaticano, Archivio di San Pietro, G.19]]. In all four manuscripts, it is found after the ''Panormia''.  


Except for the four first and the items 128 and 129, all canons respect the order of the ''Collection in ten parts'' and some are not listed in other collections [as of the publication of the ''Kanones'' CD-Rom], which makes the connection certain.
The ''Collection in 136 chapters'' essentially an excerpt of the [[Collectio X partium|''Collection in ten parts'']].  In BnF lat. 3871, it is found immediately before the [[Collectio XXX capitulorum in Paris, BnF, lat. 3871|''Collectio XXX capitulorum'']]. Both collections were first described by Gérard {{Author|Fransen}} and more recently analysed by Dominique {{Author|Stutzmann}}.

All canons in the ''Collection in 136 chapters'' are found in ''10P'', and except for the four first and the items 128 and 129, they are in the same sequence; in addition, some of these texts are found in other collections, making it very certain that the ''Collection in 136 chapters'' is indeed an excerpt of ''10P''.
 
Given that the manuscripts containing the collections are from Clairvaux and Fontenay, respectively, it seems likely that they were compiled in these regions too, where ''10P'' has a known transmission. Both collections were compiled in the twelfth century.

The Collection in 136 chapters is found in Paris, BnF, lat. 3871, Paris, BnF, lat. 3872, Troyes, BM, 480, and Città del Vaticano, Archivio di San Pietro, G.19. In all four manuscripts, it is found after the Panormia.

The Collection in 136 chapters essentially an excerpt of the Collection in ten parts. In BnF lat. 3871, it is found immediately before the Collectio XXX capitulorum. Both collections were first described by Gérard Fransen and more recently analysed by Dominique Stutzmann.
