Collectio canonum in Roma, Vallicelliana, Tomus XXI, fol. 284r–302v
Roma, Vallicelliana, Tomus XXI is a miscellany of various fragments bound together.
On fols. 284r-302v it contains a derivate of the Collectio V librorum copied in a late 11th central Italian minusucule. The script resembles that used at the monastery of Sant’Eutizio near Nursia (modern Norcia) in Umbria. [95] The canons are not numbered. Roger Reynolds published an analysis (implicit edition) of the collection. The present analysis (RE) is based on his. Reynolds classifies the collection as a farrago. The formal source(s) of those canons which are not taken from the Collectio V librorum cannot be identified. The collection deals with the ministry of the sacraments and the administration of penance to both clergy and laity. The elementary nature of the collection suggests that it was compiled for a dependency of the monastery.
