	Paris lat. 3839 is a medium-sized codex and contains exclusively canonical material, which is dominated by the ''[[Collectio Dionysio-Hadriana]]''. Three other canonical collection are included, the ''[[Abbreviatio Ansegisi et Benedicti Levitae]]'', the first chapters of the ''[[Collectio XXX capitulorum]]'', and a very short excerpt of the preface and beginning of the ''[[Collectio Dacheriana]]''. 	Il manoscritto proviene dalla biblioteca di San Domenico Maggiore di Napoli (“Il decreto di Graziano in foglio in pergamena di carattere Longobardo, preggiabile, e per l’antichità e per alcune glosse particolari”, Capasso 1878, p. 594). È probabile che fosse giunto a San Domenico con il legato del vescovo di Palermo Pierre de Sainte-Foi: “et lego idem conventui fratrum Predicatorum de Neapoli omnes libros meos theologicos, tantum quos habeo in quadam archa in domo ipsorum, verum quia in rebellione et turbatione Sycilie perdidi multa bona”: H. Stein, “Testament de Pierre de Sainte-Foi archevêque de Palerme (1283),” ''Bibliothèque de l’École des Chartes'', 1912, pp. 436-443: [https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k124509/f443.item 441]. Purtroppo non è precisato l’elenco dei manoscritti, ma in considerazione della formazione del vescovo alcuni dovevano essere di contenuto giuridico. Nel 1718 “Novantasette codici Mss. dei più stimati, che allora esistevano in Napoli”, sottratti dalle biblioteche di San Giovanni a Carbonara, San Domenico Maggiore, San Severino e altre, furono trasportati a Vienna per volere dell’imperatore Carlo VI d’Asburgo (Capasso 1878). Artefice principale della spoliazione era stato l’avvocato napoletano Alessandro Riccardi, prefetto della biblioteca di Vienna. Nei ''Commentarii'' del Lambech è offerto l’Indice “di alcuni celebri manoscriti (sic) scelti da più rinomati Archivi Napolitani, et ad oggetto di eseguirne il Cesareo compiacimento trasportati in Vienna” (c. [https://www.digitale-sammlungen.de/en/view/bsb11021903?page=450,451 766]). Il ''Decretum'' è elencato al n. XLVIII (c. [https://www.digitale-sammlungen.de/en/view/bsb11021903?page=452,453 772]). Nel 1919 Hans Tietze, dopo aver ricostruito sommariamente la vicenda, ha elencato i manoscritti provenienti da Napoli prelevati dalla ~~Hoftbibliothek~~ di Vienna, tra cui il ''Decretum''. La segnatura ‘2131’ tuttora visibile sulla controguardia anteriore e nel marg. sup. di f. 2r corrisponde a quella che il codice ebbe al suo ingresso nella ÖNB (''Tabulae codicum'', II, 15). Dopo la prima guerra mondiale, a seguito dell’armistizio siglato a Villa Giusti (4 nov. 1918), una commissione formata dal prof. Paolo D’Ancona, da Gino Fogolari e da Giulio Coggiola, bibliotecario della Marciana di Venezia, ebbe l’incarico di recuperare i beni sottratti dagli austriaci. Il recupero riguardò anche quelli asportati dall’Italia prima del 1866. Nel 1919 furono restituiti “un centinaio di codici” (Coggiola 1919, p. 210), ma solo quatto anni più tardi furono consegnati alla Biblioteca Nazionale di Napoli.
